Sunday Salon

Hi Everyone!

It has been a while since I did a Sunday Salon. Mostly after being sick for most of the year I decided I needed to make a drastic change. So I went Paleo! The first two weeks left me drained with no energy to read or write. I barely had enough energy for the basic everyday living stuff. Now I feel great! Another effect that I am grateful for is that for the last couple of years I have been struggling with my ADHD. Tt really got in the way when I attempted to read or write. My attention span was limited to an hour or less at a time. Yesterday however I read for 12ā€¦ yes you read right, TWELVE hours straight. I even read faster and got through three books! I was amazed that something like changing your diet can have such tremendous effect. I am looking forward to see how this impacts my writing and workflow.

In other news I had my first DNF this past week. I hate to DNF a book but this one was really dragging me down and it seemed to be something that a science professor would assign. The name was Good Calories, Bad Calories. It was supposed to add evidence to the Low Carb debate but after 150 pages of reading pure science i was just like ughhhā€¦I have 35 other books out from the Libabry, it wont kill me to not read this one all the way through. So that was my first DNF in years!

As for today I am going to sit outside and relax and read. I may go to the libabry with a friend to get more books. I have some books on hold I need to pick up. My friend was amazed at all the books I have gotten out of the libabry but I am like must read ALL the things!

Have a Nice Sunday Everyone! What are you reading today? And ohh!! Does anyone know of any books on hermits?

  1. 35 books out from the library? Whoaaaa! And I thought I was bad with just the two or three I usually have. šŸ™‚

  2. Whoa. I read things too quickly. You’ve gone Paleo? That’s great. My wife and I “do” Wheat Belly, which is similar and it’s been great so far. Good luck with your endeavors in that regard.

Don’t feel bad about a DNF! I probably have at least one DNF a week?
