Finally, I Found Meds that help my Rheumatoid Arthritis.
.
Well, here we are at the end of April, and I finally got around to typing this.
For those of you who have been reading my blog over the years, well, remmy way, way b, I started having trouble with my joints—mainly my knees. At first, I thought maybe I was training at the Gym. Then it got worse, and eventually, it got to where I could barely walk, so I moved back to my hometown, and after three years and a shit load of tests, we finally figured out it was Psoriatic Arthritis. Fast forward three more years, and I tested positive for Rheumatoid arthritis. 6 months after that, after the Methotrexate failed, I was put on Enbrel, and finally, I could say that I Finally Found meds that helped control my Rheumatoid arthritis. It took 6 YEARS to do so. I have been on Enbrel for six months, I think, and the difference in how I feel is impressive. After I WAS able to walk without a cane, I was so happy that I swore that I would do anything to keep my mobility.
Started Working Out with Sweat again
If you are a long-time reader of this blog, you know that about six years ago, before all my health problems started, I was doing what was then called BBG (Bikini Body Guide) and had some great results with it. I had to stop because I had what would turn out to be Rheumatoid arthritis. It took six years to find the proper treatment that worked for me. Finally, in January, I started on Enbrel, which was life-changing. My pain levels went down drastically, and I was able to walk without a cane. I moved back to my parents because I couldn’t do much with the pain and my joints getting all stiff. I got better enough that I could work out. I had no idea I lived near a well-equipped gym, so I was doing Tone it Up and switched to FitOn.
A couple of weeks ago, I went to check out the Gym, and I was astonished to see that the Gym that I mocked as a hillbilly gym was BETTER than the Planet Fitness I had been going to when I still lived near Cleveland. I signed up right then and there and started going every day except my rest days.
I hated not having a workout plan. I know many people hop to machine after machine. Don’t get me wrong—I think if that is what floats your boat, then you do it. I, however, wanted results! Preferably, they were the same as I had initially, and if I could get even better, I would be willing to do whatever it took.
BBG was rebranded and added a lot of programs, including a beginner program for almost every workout type they had available. I decided on this program. It has seriously kicked my ass in the best way.
I fell down a Chinese drama rabbit hole on Chinese TV.
I talk about furs daily, watching Chinese shows on YouTube and other sites. My friends like to joke that if the Communist witch hunt were ever resurrected, I would be at the top of the list. In all seriousness, though, watching a show radically different from how I live was an excellent escape. For the record, I like to watch how the super-rich people live. If I wanted to watch poor people, I could do that for free by going outside my door in central Appalachia. Think of the TV version of Crazy Rich Asians.
Not long before, I realized that Chinese movies all follow the same basis with different actors and plots, so if you saw one, you see them all. Some actors shine in particular films, making them stand apart.
Lost 75 pounds
I was feeling somewhat overwhelmed when I got the Rheumatoid arthritis diagnosis. I knew I needed to lose weight to help get 100 percent better, but my mental health meds make me crave sugar, and that makes me gain weight to a number I never thought I would see.
I started on Wegovy to see if that would help the sugar cravings, and OMG, did it ever! I started losing weight and feeling better, and a couple of months ago, I joined a gym and re-downloaded Sweat (formerly BBG) just six years before all my health woes started; this program is magic.
Together, I have lost 75 pounds in one year. I still have a long way to go, but at least it is good progress, and my health is back.
