My Review: I LOVED this book. Most of the time mysteries and such are a hit or miss for me. A friend told me that this is one of her favorite mystery series and I trust her judgment when it comes to books so I decided to give it a try. I am so glad I did. I thought the way that she incorporated the animals voices into the story was adorable. I could not get enough of the cats voices.
As this was my first Rita Mae Brown book I was not sure what to expect. Would it be a boring technical, mystery? Would it be filled with obscure clues? I was glad to see that it was a light fun read. I had been in a book slump. Actually it was more of a life slump. I needed SOMETHING to jolt me out of my doldrums and I am glad to say this book did. I had been attempting to read technical books and i found I couldn’t focus but this book had the perfect amount of fluff and entertainment to hold my attention.
The book takes place around Halloween and I loved reading about how the characters celebrated the holiday. I normally don’t find Halloween all that exciting but reading about how the different characters went about getting ready for the holidays kind of got me in the mood. I LOved reading about how they got ready for the hayride and the farm stands and such.
If you are looking for a quick fun read then give this series a try.
