My Intentions of 2025

Do Not keep trying to reinvent the wheel.

I LOVE trying new methods and tech, but over the past few years, I have used them as an excuse not to do the work. For example, many techniques exist for keeping a house clean and even more for decluttering. I have jumped from one to another, and I am sure you can picture how much cleaning I have managed to finish.

To be honest, only one method has worked for me: the FlyLady method. I tried almost every technique I have heard of, but ultimately, I am sticking with Flyady and have accomplished more than any other program.

I have a good idea of what works for me, so I will stick with what I know this year and ignore everything else.

Be Myself

I read The Happiness Project way back when. In it, the author said she would be herself and not let other people sway her.

I agree that I at least let people influence me to do things I did not like to fit in. Honestly, it led to some very uncomfortable situations. I am still finding out what Hillary likes versus following everyone else. I do know I love to read and blog, and to the shock of everyone around me last year, I started to love going to the gym, and a healthy lifestyle started to take me. shape

Stop all the doom-scrolling

This one is hard because I liked discussing politics and dall. After all, that is what my degree is in. For some reason, a genocide that is being live-streamed just hits differently. It started messing with my mental health because I felt so hopeless. It came to the point where I just had to step back from all the evil in this world and just focus on reading my books and such. I know that sounds privileged, and I agree it Is, but my mental health is also important

Follow my health plan

If you have been following along in the past, you may remember me bemoaning my joint pains. It turned out to be Rheumatoid arthritis. Most people (even me) think you can take a pill, and it will go into remission. That is not exactly true. If you want full health and little to no pain, you also have to cut out foods that you are sensitive to. For me, that is sugar and gluten. I cut those two out, and I feel a whole lot better.

Reach out to more bookish people

Back in the day, being a hermit was a dream come true. However, as my meds started working, I began to try and connect with people. When I was manic, I had no problem with being wild, but I have been stable for three years now, and with the liquid courage that forced my body to do things, I started to withdraw more and more. I miss Bookish conversations, so I will genuinely connect with the book community and be more active.

Get back into the habit of reading

I have been doing better with this the last couple of weeks. At one point, my brain fog was so bad all I could do was watch endless YouTube videos. As a last resort, I started drinking this, and it has worked wonders for my brain fog. I hope this will be the year I read more than 20 books a year.
