I have decided to try something new with this blog. I like it when other bloggers get personal, and I thought I would like to try. I don’t want this to become a personal dairy site so I thought on Sundays I would tell a bit about what went on in the week.
I am typing this up on Saturday evening. I had a migraine for three days and finally today it got REALLY bad so I called a friend and asked if she would take me to urgent care. This was my first time EVER going to urgent care. I had pictured they would look at me with pity swoop me in and give me meds. Alas, they asked me a million questions, and I had to wait an hour. I was on the verge of tears before they finally called me in. I finally got in, and a nurse asked me a million MORE questions and showed me that dumb pain scale and by this time it was past a 10. It turned out I had to wait for the “real” Dr. She came pretty quick. There were MOAR questions. I can’t tell you how hard it is to lipread when you are trying not to puke, and your head is pounding. I finally got a prescription for Imitrex. By the time we got to CVS, i was in such bad shape my friend had to go in with me. Everyone was trying to offer me water and stuff, but all I wanted was that damn Imitrex. Finally, I had it in my hot little hands. Took a pill came home and the headache went away in a couple of hours. I feel so good now I am typing up this post! The ironic thing is that I had just been to my regular Dr, and I had not had a migraine in over a year, so I told them to not to refill it. Dumb Hillary. You can bet on Monday I will be on the phone demanding a refill. The one good thing is that my insurance paid for everything. When I told my mom, she was like they will charge you an arm and a leg but they didn’t. So yay for going to the Dr and not going broke.
Speaking of my mom, she has finally figured out Siri on her iPhone. If I press the home button, I can use it. Most of the time but I can’t say an S, so the Hey Siri won’t works for me. Anyway, it understands my mom just fine. I get lots of texts with This is Siri telling you…hahahahha. Mom even figured out that Siri will read your text messages and stuff. It always comes through really well so maybe it is my Deaf accent that Siri can’t understand. Hmmph
I have recently discovered the site Beeminder. I had read Better Than Before and was looking for ways to help me build some habits. I started with beeminding my reading. I set it up via IFTT and now every time I mark a book as read, it creates a data point on my beeminder chart. I failed this week with my migraine. Luckily I had a freebee, so I won’t have to pay. You can set it up however you want. I choose to pay 5 dollars if I dont meet my goal. I really like this site. I am adding in goals gradually, so I dont get overwhelmed.
I FOUND MY FITBIT! I had just read the Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up. I was folding my underwear. No, I did not talk to them. Anyway, I saw a pair waaay back in the drawer and lo and behold my Fitbit was on it. It was there all last year. I charged it up and it still works. It is amazing how reading can really change your life.
I am going to church today. It will be my first time back ever since I was diagnosed with MRSA I am all better now. I missed going to Church so I am all excited about going back. Some friends who haven’t seen me since I came down with MRSA wants to go out to eat with me so not too sure about how much reading I will get in today. It should be a super fun day though!
