Guess what I found out last week? That June is Audiobook Month! I have nooooo idea til I started seeing it on Instagram. Since I can understand audiobooks now, I feel this is a good idea, so I am jumping on board. Over the last few months, I have been blowing through audiobooks. It is a good thing I have the library and Scribd, or I would go broke buying audiobooks. I am up to 100 saved audiobooks on Scribd now I see that I should have broken the audiobooks into lists such as young adult, women fiction and things like that. Hmmm sounds like a fun little project. I mean i have list like that for ebooks but i want my ebooks and audiobooks separate. No good reason i am just anal like that.
Another way I am anal is I want one service (Dropbox) to hold all my files. I needed to upgrade to business cause I ran out of room on the free plan. I thought I could buy one license thingie, but nooooooo the minimum is three users. So the other two I gave to friends. I should be mean and make then pay, but I don’t have it in me to do that, so my friends get free unlimited storage dropboxes. Now I won’t have to worry about running out of space. Who knew that blogging and writing would hog all my memory on my laptop. I tried sticking to free dropbox and google drive, but I could never remember where I put a file and while that may not matter for this personal book blog, it looks unprofessional when you cant find a client file so yeah it was time to upgrade.
I know i said I was on a book buying ban for2018 and I made it all the way to June before I broke down and renewed my subscription to BooK of the Month membership. There is something about getting books in the mail that makes me happy. I can’t put it into words but seeing my book can make even the shittiest day feel better. For June I picked The Anomaly. I saw the description of it, and they had me at x-files and Indiana Jones. I can’t wait to read it.
Like everyone, I was saddened to hear about the suicides of Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain. Unlike everybody I am not gonna ask if they had everything then why were the suicidal. I know depression is a horrible thing to have and people reach their breaking points and take drastic action. The catch with a permeate solution such as suicide is that once you are dead, you stay dead. Maybe the depression would have started to lift the day after you died. You CAN heal if you have depression. You have to fight the good fight with faith that someday you will be better than you are now. I have been suicidal more than my fair share of times. I almost succeeded too. If I had not written an email to my ex that I was gonna get out of everyone’s way, then he called 911 where I had my tummy pumped I would not be here today. It took me a long ass time to get better from that but get better I did. It is always hopeless you are dead.
Once again i am amazed how expensive it is to be poor. I was trying to decide if i want to pay for a software month or yearly and what do you know with the yearly option i saved 35 percent. That made me think. Imean what IF I did not have 250 dollars for the annual version, but instead I could scrape up 6 dollars a month. Part of me is all like it is not nice to demonize the poor, but it would be my luck that everyone ignores me and raised prices. I hate confrontation unless I am super mad so I stay quiet and pay the yearly fees for everything that has a yearly option.

  1. I am totally on the same page with you about storing your files. It’s hard to find them otherwise. Although I could say I prefer Google Drive over Dropbox.

I like google drive but I just find it easier to share stuff with Dropbox. It integrates nicely with my Mac.

  2. Good luck with audiobook month! I store all my files on my laptop, which is probably a bad idea because I have so many photos and things. Have a good week!

I used to do that then the computer went to computer heaven. It was a PC.I had my Mac for two years now and not one problem. I am still paranoid that if i just leave the file there then my mac will spontaneously combust.
