This week has seen my allergies kicking my ass. I had all these big plans, and they all fell by the wayside after I came down with sinus pain and a cough. I was not sick enough for the Dr to do anything. I was hoping it would pass, and I would feel better, but that was not to be. I finally broke down and bout some cold and allergy meds and after taking them and sleeping for the better part of three days I feel human again. I am going to Ky to visit my mom on Friday, and I shudder to think of my allergies in the south. Oh well, I will just stock up on Sudafed. As I was looking at allergy meds in CVS, a thought came to me. Do meth users get allergies and sinus infections? I mean in the area where I am from meth is a huge problem but thanks to my mom I have lived a sheltered life, so all I know about meth comes from watching Breaking Bad. One of my cousins is a state trooper, and he told me that was Hollywoods version and is nothing like reality. In truth I wouldn’t know what meth was if it was on a table in front of me BUT I know that it is made out of allergy meds cause I have to sign for it, and there is a sign saying you can only buy a certain amount at a time. SO if it is made out of allergy meds and you smoke it or however you get it into your body DO YOU GET ALLGERIES? Not that is a plan or anything, but that question has been on my brain since Wednesday. And Google for once has been of no help. hmmph
After being sick for most of this summer I have decided that I need to take my health more seriously. I haven’t fallen off the Paleo wagon completely but enough that my ADD has come back and my damn allergies. I was trying to read and OMG I couldn’t focus for more than 45 mins at a time. Makes it hard to get lost in a book. I ordered my supplements and today I feel well enough to go to the food store, so that is happening. Hopefully, it won’t take long for my ADD to go way and can read for more than half hour bursts.
I have been trying to make my way through the Golem and the Jinni. I love the book so it not that. I finally figured out my ADD is back, and I was so sad. Oh well. At least I am taking action to remedy that. My meds help some but somehow eating paleo and taking mega dosages of fish oil help A LOT. Seriously is is like a miracle. Maybe there is something to be said about the modern day American diet. Like I told you I had big plans to read three or 4 books this week but that did not happen.
I am also trying to be more involved in the book blogging community. I lurk on hundreds of blogs but rarely comment. I hear how people make good friends through blogging, and I realized that if I were more involved I could also. I am not good with friend-making, but I am going to try.
Oh, has anyone else noticed that on Scribed they will automatically bring up the next book in a series? I love that! No more looking to see what the next book is. I am bad at knowing the next book in series, so this is a big help.
I have noticed that this year I have been big on non-fiction. I have been craving escape in my reading latley so I have switched to fiction. My reading tastes come and goes. I have lost all track tracking my reading. I think I will just start with August of this year and see if I read diversely or not. I know I should but honestly in the past I have only cared about if the book sounded interesting. I have read enough blogs to feel that I should make more of an effort to be a well-rounded reader.
Well, I certainly hope that meth isn’t your plan to fight allergies :). There are much better ways to do it, including eating what’s right as you mentioned. I know for myself, that is one thing that helps as well as switching between Zyrtec and Allegra. Good luck on whatever you decide.
HAHAH Nope. My plan is to eat right. That seemed to do the trick before. My mind works in weird ways. It just came up in my head and has been bugging me ever since.
