Not your typical boring diet book, this is a tart-tongued, no-holds-barred wake-up call to all women who want to be thin. With such blunt advice as "Soda is liquid Satan" and "You are a total moron if you think the Atkins Diet will make you thin," it's a rallying cry for all savvy women to start eating healthy and looking radiant. Unlike standard diet books, it actually makes the listener laugh out loud with its truthful, smart-mouthed revelations. Behind all the attitude, however, there is solid guidance. Skinny Bitch espouses a healthful lifestyle that promotes whole grains, fruits, and vegetables and encourages women to get excited about feeling "clean and pure and energized."
I WAS doing paleo, but my body revolted in the consumption of meat so it back to vegan I go. I thought this book would give me some vegan diet tips. I was wrong but alas. Also, I am doing BBG, and I don’t trust people to tell me what meat to eat. I mean what if they ask me to eat kangaroo? Gross. Plus I just want to be told WHAT to eat and WHEN to eat it. I am in the throes of decision fatigue yo. So I just picked the vegan option and presto a meal plan that I can eat.
What I liked
it explains what veganism is and all of that in case you have been living under a rock and haven’t heard of it by now.
To be fair, they do offer maybe one or two tips for good health in the book. I was under the impression that this was going to be chock full of diet and exercise tidbits. It was not. I considered my self o be well educated and informed about where my food comes from, and there are a lot of of..errors in this book. cough
What I did not like
Almost the whole damn book. To be g=fair, I listened to this on audio, and I was out and about, and I was all like I am hungry, so I decided to get something to eat just as they got to the slaughterhouse part. Spo yeah, I am still bitter over that. That was gross. Plus there were no diet tips in the whole book. I think the authors just wanted a platform to spew out their political agenda. Not help people eat healthily. Maybe if they just owned up to it and been all “poor cows” I might have given this book more of a chance than id did but noooo they had to do it under the guise of helping people to be healthy.
This book was a POS…There are better books out there that are vegan that is better researched.
