Hi everyone and Happy Easter!
I know that it has been a hot minute since I have posted. The primary reason is I had a manic episode, and my racing thoughts made all of my writing incoherent. I thank the good Lord that I was sane enough not to publish any of the shitty posts heh. They have new meds out for Mania now, and it took a couple of dosages adjustment to get me off the fake high that my brain was on. No damage was done this time as my mom took away my bank card and froze the account so I could no do something stupid like buying French Fiber from Instagram. Now I am back to cold hard reality, so here I am blogging!
I finished two books yesterday. I will tell you that trying to read with racing thoughts does not work. It almost felt as if I was illiterate. I could SEE the words, but my brain was moving so fast that I couldn’t process them. I can hear you asking why did you not just listen to audiobooks? Well, the cord on my Bluetooth thingie broke. It broke on the INSIDE, so it took my mom and me a week and a half of googling to come across an article that mentioned that it breaks on the inside, so you have to replace it. I was mad, but mom told me it made sense even the earphone thingies from Apple breaks the same way. Luckily the cord for my Bluetooth thingie was on Amazon for 20 dollars. Yeah, I thought it was a ridiculous amount for a cord but what could I do? So I ordered it, and when it came I said a prayer to the CI Implant God that this works and it did!! So Yay! Now I can listen to my podcasts and audiobooks again!
What I Read Last Week
Both are library books that I had for about a month but my magic brain made it impossible to focus, so I did not get to them til last week.
Just the Essentials– I saw this book on a Beautiful Mess Instagram, and I am OBSESSED with my oils, and I want to learn all I can about them.
I want my Own Young Living Oils.
My Sister the Serial Killer– This blew up all over the book internet a while back, and My hold finally came in and then my brain slowed down to average speed so I read this book and OMG it is just as good as everyone says!
I am not sure what I am reading this week yet as I am typing this on Saturday Morning. After I get this post scheduled I am going to update my Trello Reading Board. It hasn’t been updated in months.
I ALMOST FORGOT! Guess what? I downloaded an audiobook from Libby. I forgot that I can’t put the slo-mo speed on in that app. I started listening, and I understood what the audiobook was saying. Then it hit me…I was listening at normal speed! Now I do not need to put audio on slo-mo. This takes care of the headache of having to adjust every single sound I listen to. It is also a significant accomplishment for a girl that was born profoundly Deaf.
I DO have a question for y’all. When you listen to bookish podcasts how do you remember what books you want to read??
