Y’all know I am now a podcast junkie and an Instagram junkie. While scrolling through Instagram I saw a blogger I love to talk about Woo-Woo Wellness, and well I AM a new age self-help junkie, so I downloaded an episode and let me just put it this way, This is now in my absolute top 5 podcasts I MUST listen too. So I was listening to this episode, and in it, Krista Dickson says that instead of trying to do a million habits one should focus on at most FIVE habits that will improve your life the most. I thought this was a great idea. I may have trouble remembering 20 habits, but even I can remember five habits. So that is what I am doing for April.
The last half of March was FANTASTIC! I started a new workout program Tone It Up, and I found out at the Dr that I lost 5 pounds in two weeks. I figured out that white flour, sugar, and dairy and gluten make my knees hurt, so I started back on Paleo got myself a subscription toPlan To Eat and have been on the prowl for good Paleo foods. Before it was pure vanity, but now it is keeping myself out of a wheelchair. I saw people in a wheelchair own the Dr’s office, and I refuse to let that be ME.
Now I am going to tell you the five habits I am going to focus on for April.
Follow a low carb paleo lifestyle will stay at 50 carbs for April
This seems one the only way of life for me. A few years back I lost 85 pounds in a span of a few months. I even felt a hell of a lot better, and life was really good for a while then I fell off the wagon, and I have tried Weight Watchers, but I seem to lack the ability to contro.l my portions relayed to wheat and sugar. So back to Paleo I go and am staying on it this time. The last time I excessed hard for two-plus hours a day I had to up it to 100 carbs, but I am not going to a gym at the moment just doing my Tone It Up exercises. I am going to start with 50 grams of Carbs just to see how I feel and function and if I can make it through my workouts. If I need too, I can always increase the carbs.
Drink 120 oz of water
Again I used to do this then cut waaaay back. It wasn’t until I told the Dr that I felt like crap and turns out I was dehydrated. I reverted to coke zero a LOT is this needs to be a habit I need to focus on. Have been doing this all last week and I feel better already.
Why 120 oz u ask? To be honest, that is what the Fitbit app told me, so I am going with it. Like I said I used to drink this much water before and felt AMAZING!
.
Exercise everyday
I just recently purchased a year of tone it up workouts. I did not need a meal plan as I follow a Paleo diet and I needed a program I could do at home as the nearest gym is a 45-minute DRIVE, and I lack the fortitude to drive more than an hour total just to work out. After looking, I found that I liked Tone it Up and it was a workout you can do at home. Plus after a few months of working out before my depression and anxiety vanished, and that alone is worth the cost of an exercise plan.
Write every day
I have gotten way out of the habit of writing since starting Seroquel. I seriously lacked the brain power do any of what I usually do. So I am making a deal that every day I have to write SOMETHING even if it is just my morning pages.
Read every day
I know..I know I am a book blogger, but it seems as if I have read waaaaayyyy less than I used to. I know to succeed with anything you have to have a plan soo I made myself a monthly TBR which I will post on the blog on April 3rd.
