Sunday Post 5-6-18

I had an audiology appointment on Friday, and I kicked that dreaded talking machine ass. I scored a 98 percent on the speech recognition tests. Ony two years ago before I had my implants it was a 0.2 percent. That is right not even a 1 percent. My Dr was shocked as people who are born Deaf and did not get implants until they were an adult generally have a poor prognosis. But not meeeeeeee. As a friend put it, I have to be the best at everything including hearing. She did have a valid point there. It feels like a lifetime since I had to rely on an ASL interpreter and to write stuff down, but it was just two years

Everyone also noticed my weight loss. I think I have finally found a program that will last me a looong time. I went ahead and paid for a yearly subscription.  I did the math it is 20 dollars monthly or 112 dollars for the yearly one it was either 240 vs. 112, so it is Cheaper to get the annual subscription.  I have decided to get tough on managing my money, so I started adding everything up and 99 percent of the time it is cheaper to get the yearly plan. Being poor is expensive. Seriously though why is that? It blew my mind how much of a difference there is between the two payment types.

I have to be honest and admit that my attention span is crappy in recent weeks. I fell off the paleo bandwagon, and my mood AND my attention span are suffering from it. I was feeling discouraged cause I thought that i wasn’t getting any skinnier then the shrink weighed me, and i have lost 55 pounds sooooo I came home and dumped all non-paleo foods and went to the store to stock up on healthy food.  It is amazing how blind one can be when attempting to gauge our weight loss progress.

I listened to one book last week. That was You Need A Budget. A review will be up this week. I started to read Grit, but like I said my attention span has been crappy, so I did not get far on that one. I also began to listen to Dread Nation, but it seems more like a fall book than a summer book.

I am now listening to Neanderthal Seeks Human on audio and reading The Woman in the Window in print.

I have a podcast that is now on my top ten favorite podcasts. It Ruth Soukup’s Do It Scared. I feel that it hits home on how to overcome limiting beliefs we hold about ourselves. I listened to all three episode yesterday and it blew my mind how spot on she was on how we tell ourselves we cant write, lose weight, etc. and the strategies one could employ to get us past the fear so we can act. This is one that you will want to listen to!
