I have been reading a lot on how to be happier. And one of the things that it suggest is making a gratitude list. I might make this a regular feature so we will see how it goes. Below is the top ten things I am grateful for right now.
-Being able to read and blog so much as they are my top two hobbies- I know lots of people who are grumpy all the time because they are all work and no play. I am grateful that I live a lifestyle that allows me to indulge in my hobbies so that I won’t be that grumpy person.
Flylady– This has been a wonderful site in teaching me how to have a clean and orderly apt. Without this site I would be living in squalor.
-Having wonderful friends and family who support me- When you are living with a mental illness this is very important. Without my friends and family I may have given up a long time ago. They give me the motivation to keep going.
Having a roof over my head -I know there are people who don’t have a place to call their own so I am glad that I do.
Having enough food to eat -Again I know there are people who go hungry but I haven’t ever went hungry so for this I am grateful
Having a good library near me– I am too poor to buy books as fast as I read so I am glad that where I live we have an EXCELLENT library system. You can find almost any book through the local library or through Ohio Link
Having access to excellent mental health services– Again when you are living with a mental illness this is key. Without the support of everyone there I may not be as far along in my recovery as I am now.
Caffeine– I know some people think that this is bad for you but seriously I couldn’t function without it.
-Being able to read and write– There are some people who can’t read and write well and I am glad I had a mother and an educational system that allowed me to develop these skills.
For being stable– There was a time I was not in control of my bipolar, it controlled me. Now I am glad to say it is controlled VERY well. I can lead a normal functional life.
