What I am reading this week

Life

At first, I had thought that it was just me that couldn’t seem to read.  It started when all of the viruses and all of that started. Before, I was flying through books and on the blog ground. Then… I dunno it felt as if all of my brains had taken a vacay, but I was still left here. It feels like my brain was either broke or refused to function. And when I did manage to read as soon as I sat down at my computer to blog, my mind would go blank. At first, I thought that my head would work after a few days, so I wasn’t all THAT worried. Bust the days turned into weeks, and I started to get nervous that my brain would never let me read again. Then I saw a couple of bloggers who admitted that they were having a difficult time focusing on books and such. I feel better cause if a lot of people are having the same issue, then it will pass, and hopefully, we all will come out the other side a better person.

What I read last week

Note this is just what I read last week I have a lot of others that I will put up soon!

Untethered soul was a DNF. I cant where I became aware of the ebook as I have been ultra lazy filling out my spreadsheet but..it was…way out there.

Saint X- This book blew my mind. There is a lot of building up for the first few chapters, then about 1/3 in it starts the whole story from different people that were on the Island and that ending!!

And the Amish Vampire in space sounds like it would be a campy play on words but nope it is a very good well-written hard Sci-Fi book.

What I am planning on reading this week.

things that made me happy last week

In times like this, it is easy to fall down the pity hole, and as someone who did just that before, it is HARD to claw your wat back out. I am restarted my gratitude practice to remind me that no matter how bad your day is/was, there is always light.

Grammarly FINALLY released their app for word on a Mac!! I was getting soo annoyed that it was only on PC for a long time. I mean, most creatives use a Mac, and that is a massive part of tour intended audience. But we Mac users can now have a perfect grammar as well!

I have recommitted to all of my health goals.  This is my second year with Tone It Up, but last year, I was doing the whole diet thing half-assed. After I went to the dr and saw a number that should never be seen on a scale for humans, I got down and put my entire ass into that program. I even follow the meal plan, and the weight is coming off, and I feel tons better already than I have in a long time.

The library is getting a curbside service. Y’all when I read that the library implemented the curbside thingie, you best believe that I jumped straight into the car and hightailed it to the library. I  fully realized how “privileged ‘that is especially here in Hillbilly Elegy country but I can’t think of anything helpful with this Pandemic going on plus They had that hermit man book and I have been waiting for that book for three months, So I  just went with the flow, and I hope that someone can find a better solution to get books to the impoverished people in the future.

  2. I went through a period toward the beginning of quarantine when I couldn’t seem to read either, so you are not alone! I’m jealous of your library’s curbside service. Ours is completely closed, although they still do digital loans

    1. I am glad that I am not the only one who had trouble reading…My library just started the whole curbside thingie and the only reason i knew about it was becuase I bugged them so much asking when are they gonna pass out the books so they sent me an email telling me that curbside was avalible.

  3. There were definitely a lot of us who couldn’t focus on books, especially during the early period of the pandemic.
Congrats on maintaining your weight loss journey though.

  4. A loss of focus seems to be a common result from COVID. I did a whole post on it a couple months ago. I’ll include the link below. I’m glad you liked Saint X. It was a book that I struggled with, but would still enjoy reading the authors next book.
